Astris Finance was incorporated in 2000 as a US LLC domiciled in Washington DC, USA. Astris maintains a permanent staff that constitutes the Execution Group, based in Washington, Mexico and Paris. All support activities are orchestrated from Washington DC. Astris management receives strategic guidance and support from the Company’s Advisory Board. Our Advisory Board gathers a select number of highly qualified senior professionals with diverse backgrounds in the financing, government and industry spheres. Where relevant, Astris Finance also relies on a network of sector specialists associated with the firm.

Andres joined Astris in 2010 with a view to establishing a permanent Astris presence in Bogota, Colombia. Andres has more than 17 years of experience in investment baking: in 2005, he founded Abacus Capital, a fund manager specialized in real estate and distressed corporate debt. Previously Mr. Alvarado founded and helped organize the Investment Bank of the Helm Group, Helm Investment Advisors, from July 2002 to August 2005, providing strategic advise to companies in the financial sector, consumer products, industrial, telecommunications, chemicals, mining and the electric sector. Andres is a former VP of ING Barings New York, where, working in the telecom group, he led several financings, IPOs and acquisitions. Prior to that, he was with the Latin American Corporate Finance Group at ING, where he was responsible for bond issues and financial advisory services.

He has a Master's degree in Latin American Studies of the University of California at Berkeley, and a MBA from the Florida International University. He passed the Series 7 and Series 63 examinations regulated by NASD and the New York Stock Exchange. He is fluent in Spanish and English.
