Juan Pablo Crane has 15 years of experience in investment banking and infrastructure. Mr. Crane has worked with Astris Finance since 2004 where he has handled and led numerous projects throughout Latin America representing over US$1.5 billions of investment in various infrastructure sectors including transportation, energy, accommodation, and water. He has closed transactions with various sources of financing, including debt capital markets, multilateral and bilateral agencies, commercial banking and Export Credit Agencies. Notable transactions include the USD 162 million note offering in connection with the greenfield toll road Autopista del Nordeste project in the Dominican Republic, the recent US$151 million multilateral financing of Boulevard Turistico del Atlántico, an extension to the ADN road in the Dominican Republic, and the IIRSA Norte toll road US$213 million securitization in Peru. In the last five years three of his deals have received a Deal of the Year award.
Mr. Crane created and led for three years the project finance practice in Mexico for Dexia where his team participated in the financing and/or structuring of more than 15 projects in infrastructure representing over US$2 billion of investment. Prior to joining Astris, Mr. Crane served at Taylor-DeJongh, a boutique infrastructure investment bank focused on emerging markets, where he concentrated in transactions in the energy, oil & gas and utilities sector in Latin America.
Prior to leaving Colombia, Mr. Crane worked in investment banking at one of the top investment banking firms in the country and served as Deputy Director of Public Credit for Colombia's Ministry of Finance. There he was in charge of coordinating the Colombian government’s local and external debt raising efforts as well as the structuring and implementation of privatization and concession projects to attract private capital.
Mr. Crane earned his undergraduate degree in industrial engineering from the Universidad de los Andes in Colombia and holds an MBA from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University (2002). He is fluent in English and Spanish and proficient in French.
