October 2010 - Astris Finance establishes a permanent presence in Colombia

Astris Finance announced today that it has teamed up with Colombian investment banking and asset management firm Abacus to develop a permanent presence in the booming Colombian market.

With this exclusive alliance in the Colombia infrastructure space, Astris reinforces a presence it had been developing over the past two years, notably by advising two consortia of international and Colombian construction firms in the Ruta del Sol 2 and Ruta del Sol 3 projects. Fabrice Henry, the Astris Finance managing director in charge of Latin America, said: “we are very happy to be able to rely on a permanent team in Colombia. We see the Colombian market as very promising, given the combination of the high unsatisfied demand for infrastructure related services, a new government with a clear road map for infrastructure development, and a general economic and institutional framework conducive to attracting private finance to the sector.”

The Astris-Abacus team will be headed by Juan Pablo Crane, director in the Mexico office of Astris Finance, and Santiago Pardo a former Citibank director based in Colombia.
