Syndicated loan markets

We maintain excellent relationships with the most active commercial banks in the key markets we cover: out of our Washington DC or Paris office we have an excellent access to the major players in the New York or London syndicated loan markets, and our local teams are very well connected to the key regional players we work with to fund local currency deals:

  • Latin America: our day to day in our Mexico City, Bogotá, São Paulo and Santiago de Chile offices revolves around dealing with the most active commercial banks in the region
  • Asia: we have been able to support clients in the region leveraging on the network of our team in Singapore
  • Africa: we have advised clients in Northern Africa, in Western Africa or in South Africa where we have been able to consolidate a sound network of contacts across the banking industry

We have a long track record of closed transactions involving Export Credit Agencies, Bilateral and Multilateral Agencies, who view Astris as a leading advisor in the emerging markets in which we are active. We maintain close relationships with the key professionals at each institution and we are intimately familiar with the due diligence and credit approval processes of the principal institutions. This positioning has made Astris the partner of choice for our clients to help navigate the International Financing Institutions world.

The strength of these relationships are demonstrated by the fact that we have brought several “firsts” to the market leveraging on agency financing and guarantee products.

Our strong capital markets experience allows us to leverage those sources of financing when the transaction and markets allow. Astris’ structured credit expertise has enabled us to be instrumental in the successful closing of several benchmark “project bonds”.
