Our team’s project finance expertise covers a wide range of markets, spanning from raising financing in local currency in selected emerging markets on the one extreme to advising clients in the most well-established project finance markets in Western Europe in the renewable energy sector on the other.

History
2000:
Founding of Astris
ASTRIS FINANCE was founded in 2000 as a Latin America-focused subsidiary of Dexia, the European-based world leader in infrastructure and public finance. Astris is now 100% owned by management. This gives us both flexibility of operations and independence of judgment. The scope of our activities now includes global emerging markets and renewable energy in Europe, Latin America and Africa
2008:
Management Buyout
In June 2008 as a result of a shift in Dexia’s corporate strategy, Astris’ management completed a management buyout, consolidating control and ownership of the Company. At the same time, Astris expanded its base of operations, with permanent staff now based in Washington DC, Mexico, Paris and a new rep office in Bangkok.
2009:
European Operations, Renewable Energy
In early 2009, Astris took over the senior executives at the origin of Dexia’s early positioning in the renewable energy sector, expanding the Firm’s reach to the European market, where we have secured over 10 advisory mandates in the fastest moving segments of Renewable Energy: on and off-shore wind, PV and thermal solar.
