Marcelo Kapel joined Astris in June of 2021 as a Vice President in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Prior to Astris, Marcelo spent ten years at BNP Paribas’ project finance team based in Sao Paulo and in New York.
During this period, Marcelo has arranged non-recourse financing of various types (bank financing, bonds, private placements) for projects across Latin America in multiple energy and infrastructure sectors. Marcelo has also advised sponsors for projects in bid and early-development stages through financial closing.
Marcelo holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Fundacao Getulio Vargas, in Brazil, and is fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
