New York – May 2026. Astris Finance is very pleased to announce the recruitment of Jose Carlos Gomez as Managing Director in its New York office. Jose Carlos will share responsibility for the North American region with Nadia Zaets, Managing Director, and will focus on growing the firm's advisory practice in renewable energy and infrastructure. His arrival brings the North American team — across New York, Washington D.C. and Toronto — to 12 professionals, reflecting the pace of the firm's build-out since the acquisition of a majority stake by Colliers in July 2025 and opening its U.S. and Canadian offices in October 2025.
Jose Carlos joins Astris from Scotiabank in New York, where he most recently served as Director in the Power & Utilities Investment Banking team, focused on M&A advisory. He brings over a decade of investment banking experience in infrastructure, power and utilities, advising clients on M&A, debt advisory and structured financings across the Americas. He has led and executed transactions representing over US$10bn in cumulative investment across the infrastructure and energy sectors, including award-winning transactions recognized by PFI, IJGlobal, and LatinFinance. Jose Carlos will report to Romain Papassian, Head of the Americas, in the New York office.
Astris has been rapidly expanding its North American platform. Since opening its New York and Toronto offices in October 2025, Astris has secured M&A and financing mandates spanning renewables, gas-fired generation, and digital infrastructure — sectors at the heart of the current North American energy investment cycle.
Jose Carlos said: “I am genuinely excited to join Astris at a pivotal moment for energy and infrastructure investment in North America. As energy transition, power demand and digital infrastructure converge, the scale of investment required is unlike anything we have seen. Clients need advisors who can bring together strategic M&A advice and financing expertise. I look forward to building on what Romain and the team have established and bringing the firm’s track record to a broader set of clients across the region.”
Papassian commented: "We are delighted to welcome Jose Carlos to the Astris team. His deep experience in energy M&A and project finance across the power and infrastructure sectors, combined with his strong industry relationships, make him an exceptional addition as we continue to grow our North American franchise across both conventional and new energy markets."
Fabrice Henry, Astris CEO, added: "Jose Carlos's arrival reflects our continued commitment to building a best-in-class advisory platform in North America. His expertise across the full spectrum of energy and infrastructure transactions will be a real asset to our clients and to the firm."
