Jose Carlos Gomez joined Astris in 2026 as Managing Director in the New York office, where he is focused on energy and infrastructure advisory in North America.
Prior to joining Astris, Jose Carlos spent over a decade at Scotiabank in New York and Toronto. Most recently, he was a Director in the Power & Utilities Investment Banking team, focused on M&A advisory. He previously worked in Scotiabank’s Power and Infrastructure Finance team, where he focused on debt advisory and structured financings across the Americas. Earlier in his career, he was a Project Manager at Cisco Systems, focused on enterprise technology and data center infrastructure.
Jose Carlos has advised clients across renewable energy, thermal generation, utilities and infrastructure. He has led and executed transactions representing over US$10bn in cumulative investment, including transactions recognized as Deal of the Year by PFI, IJGlobal and LatinFinance.
Jose Carlos holds an MBA from McGill University and a BSc in Finance from the University of Texas at Dallas. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
